Argentina make sure they stop the opponent’s strongest sides. In addition, Messi’s genius helps them win the matches. It is now becoming a trend at this World Cup for Argentina to become very dangerous in the last 10 minutes of the first halves. With France, quality is in abundance. 5 of their main players, Benzema, Kante, Pogba, Luca Hernandez and Kimbembe, are missing, and the French have absolutely no problems with that because they have one or two other teams that can successfully replace them. Even Uppamecano got injured for the Morocco game and Konate did brilliantly in his place. Rabiot was also missing, but so what? Youssouf Fofana came in and solved the problem immediately. On top of that, Muani, who wasn’t supposed to be at this World Cup at all but because of another injury (to Nkunku) came into the starting eleven and.. scored.

On the one hand we have all this talent of France, who without any doubt look like the strongest squad in the world if you look at them individually. It’s just that Deschamps makes this work like a flawless machine. On the other hand we have an utterly ambitious and determined Argentina who go to war in every game led by Lionel Messi. The vast majority of World Cup finals end in BTTS and it’s easy to see this as even the exceptions more recently have been at this century’s World Cups, but 2018 has seen it happen again. We have Mbappe and Messi from the 2 sides who are the strongest players in the tournament and play in attack. Hard to see a clean sheet for either of the 2 teams. Prediction – Both teams to score at 2.00.
