Chelsea finally won a game

Chelsea won 1-0 having not played their most convincing game against Leeds, but a win is a win. This is only Chelsea’s 3rd success in their last 17 games in all competitions. The team’s performance has been average and there has been no change even after buying all these players in the winter. Everyone is already counting how many days Graham Potter has left, but Todd Boehly seems to be one idea more patient than Abramovic and has decided to leave Potter at least until the outcome of the clash with Dortmund in the CL.

Dortmund come into this game in top form

Dortmund could hardly be in better form. The team is on a run of 8 consecutive league wins, is level on points with Bayern and this season we are looking at a real title battle between the two titans in Germany. It’s also winning consistently in the German Cup, so it could hardly be better for Dortmund right now. As an away team Borussia play a bit more defensively and make fewer chances, but Edin Terzic’s team remains just as effective.

Chelsea need to win but won’t hold out in defense

No doubt I expect Chelsea to score because the team has no other choice – the Blues need to win to have a chance to eliminate Dortmund, as they are 0-1 down from the first clash. They are playing at home, and there at least in the UCL they very rarely miss to score. For Dortmund, however, there will be plenty of scoring chances and I expect them to be effective in front of goal, so I predict BTTS at 1.75.
