Man City are one step away from one of the greatest achievements in football
The Citizens achieved victory in the FA Cup final a week ago against Man United, and with ease, although they didn’t play all that well. Once again, though, it was evident how versatile this Guardiola team is. City can literally use 5-6 or more patterns of play depending on how the game is going and what they need to get to goal. If Haaland is stopped, there are plenty more players who even without team play, just individual class, can solve games like Gundogan, for example.
Inter know that the minimum for them in this game is to be faultless if they want to achieve anything
The truth is that Inter’s strongest years were in the 60s and early 70s, but then in the last 50 years the nerazzurri haven’t had much success in Europe apart from, of course, the huge treble in 2010 with Mourinho in charge. Now Inter finished the season in the top 4 in Serie A and won the Coppa Italia, so even if they don’t beat City in that final, it’s definitely going to be a good season for Inzaghi.
The Italians theoretically have almost no chance, but they are not doomed
It’s very important here for Inter not to concede an early goal like Man United did in the final in England. That would kill all the intrigue and Inter would have even less of a chance. Surely the Italians know that their strongest weapon may be their defense and they will try to do well there by giving Man City the ball and I don’t expect them to try to take it away from them much if it is far from their goal. I expect City to possess the ball and make a lot of passes as usual. The bet here is Rhodri – Over 83.5 passes at 1.83 as he made 102 passes against Real Madrid and has averaged around 84 passes per game in both the Premier League and Champions League.
