⬆️ City have no stop
Man City are chasing 1st place in the standings as they start the round 1 point behind Arsenal and a full 8 ahead of their main title rival in recent years, Liverpool, albeit a game more. The Citizens predictably hit back after their fail against Villa when they drew 1-1 then thrashed Wolves 3-0 away and with ease. Laporte may return for this game but Phillips and Stones remain out.
🟢 United are doing well in their away games lately
Ever since United beat the big rival, Liverpool, the team has been getting great results. Realistically since then, the team has a total of 5 wins in 6 games with their loss to Real Sociedad in the Europa League hardly being any drama. The Red Devils are starting to look like a team, but ten Haag have a lot of work ahead of them, nonetheless. United have some injury problems with Rashford unlikely to return for this game. Van de Beek is questionable and Maguire is injured.
⚽ In this derby City have often suffered in recent years
It’s interesting that Man City haven’t had that many home wins against United in recent years. For example, in their last 14 home games in the Premier League, City have only won 5 against their local rivals. At the moment, both teams are returning after a national break with both teams in good form. In practice United have nothing to lose because they are a huge underdog, but I think they have something to show in this game. If City don’t win it won’t be some huge surprise. I’m going with BTTS at 1.70 as I think United have a pretty good chance to get a goal in this game.
