ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION FOR MONACO - SAINT ETIENNE
Monaco has a new coach since December. Robert Moreno came to the club after briefly leading Spain because of the Enrique situation. It was a good period for Moreno, as he was noticed by many European clubs. Jardim left the team in the right position before being replaced. Looking at Monaco players, this is definitely a team for at least top 5 and why not top 3? Fabregas, Golovin and Bakayoko form a very quality midfield and Ben Yeder scores goals. In last match Balde and Slimani did not play against Strasbourg.
St Etienne is a rather volatile team. At the front the play of the team is so good all season. The very fact that St Etienne have no draw in the Championship since the end of November speaks enough for how offensive the team style is. Enough for Ligue 1 in this case. Saint-Etienne has taken 2 wins in their last 2 games and was previously defeated by PSG and Nantes. However, they have often won major victories in their away games in the French Cup.
Expert view : We think that Monaco are not as pronounced a favorite as they are expected to be on the pitch. We do not rule out a victory for St Etienne, though this is least likely as a way out. In any case, we will be relying on the goals once again, as both teams will be looking for them pretty much throughout the match. Monaco have very strong players on the attack, while St Etienne rarely misses to score recently. Prediction – Over 2.5 goals at 1.66.
