Newcastle – Chelsea, Prediction – Premier League

👍 The Magpies have been brilliant so far

Newcastle’s transformation since the Mike Ashley era is unrecognizable, and they haven’t even started the serious spending yet. The Magpies have just one loss since the start of the season and that was at Anfield in the last minute, in a game where they were very injury prone and still played great. Basically, Newcastle are in the fight for the top 4 right now, they just have a lot of draws. They managed to beat Crystal Palace via penalties in the League Cup this week and are moving on to the round of 16.

😵 Potter with first serious problems at Chelsea

Chelsea with some pretty poor results lately. 4 straight games without a win in the league. Lost to Brighton 1-4 away and to Arsenal in the next round at Stamford Bridge with an awful performance and another defeat, this time in the League Cup, to Man City in the week. Chelsea also have a lot of injured players, which hinders them even more. The Blues are in 7th place, but only 6 points clear of Newcastle and a game in hand.

⚽ There will probably still be goals

Considering the lack of key defensive players + Kepa, who has been Chelsea’s wizard in recent games, and the form of the team and Newcastle’s great attack, the chance of Chelsea conceding a goal is huge. Chelsea, however, have been doing quite well against the Magpies lately. 7 wins from 8 games. I expect them not to lose and certainly to score at least a goal. Newcastle have been involved in a lot of goal-scoring games recently, so my prediction is BTTS at 1.70.
