😎 Spain did something historic

Spain showed they can be extremely versatile in attack. An incredible game for La Furia Roja against Costa Rica and a historic 7-0 win in which the team shone throughout. This gives the Spaniards a huge advantage for the next games, and even better for them, the young talents on the team were great. Spain look pretty prepared for the tournament and so far the criticism of Enrique seems unfounded, but the serious tests are yet to come.

😔 Another false start for Germany

Germany with a brutally bad start to the World Cup after the arrogant and terrible second half against Japan they made. The 1st half was super for the Germans, even though they were only 1-0 up, they wasted a lot of chances for a 2nd goal. In the 2nd half they showed poor organisation and lack of concentration in defence, but in attack they wasted easy chances. This is pretty bad for the Germans as they have no problems with injuries or lack of important players. In practice, apart from Sane, there were no other key players missing.

⏩ If the Germans don’t win, they are almost certainly out

Time for some reckoning. If Germany doesn’t win this game, and Japan doesn’t lose against Costa Rica, then the chance of the Germans making it to the round of 16 becomes minimal. That means they’ll be looking for a must-win against Spain, which in turn will lead to a pretty open match as there’s no room for caution here. This is comfortable for Spain who are in a good position. They can obviously show a lot of their qualities in attack, and chances will be given to them, so it looks like there will be goals here. Prediction – Over 2.5 goals at 1.72.
