I placed €3,000 on a team you should never bet on!
Sometimes a single match reminds you why you love football. Sometimes, why you love a proper bet. And on rare occasions, it shows you both at once.
Exactly that happened in Roma – Viktoria Plzeň at the legendary Stadio Olimpico, while 60,000 Romans around me were roaring as if Italy’s future depended on it.
The big bet – €3,000 (1.75) on “Both Teams to Score”
Right from the start, I told myself:
“There will be goals in this match. No doubt.”
The form, the attacking style of both sides, and the gaps at the back – everything screamed a high-scoring clash. This BTTS was a bet I backed firmly.
The second bet – €500 on a player
Minutes before kick-off, I did something most people would call “risky”, but it’s not if you’ve got the right info.
I put €500 on Viktoria Plzeň striker Prince Adu to make at least 3 shots.
Here’s the logical question:
“Why Prince Adu?”
Easy – his form was excellent.
24 shots in his last 7 starts, averaging over 3.4 per match.
Bookies were offering 2.20 for just 3 shots. Plus, he had been crucial for Plzeň recently and had scored a few goals.
A player with momentum always goes for the goal.

Kick-off – and the white fireworks start
Plzeň came out bravely, as if they were the home side. Adu won an early corner… and by the 8th minute, he already had his first shot!
Meanwhile, Roma did what Roma often does – loads of attacking, little end product.
Shock in Rome
And then – like lightning from a clear sky:
Goal for Viktoria Plzeň. And scored by Prince Adu!
Seeing 60,000 people fall silent for half a second before exploding in anger is something special and not often seen!
And not long after, Plzeň stunned everyone with a second goal.
Even I didn’t expect 0:2, but I knew Plzeň came to play. That’s why we’d tipped them in our subscription bets (Viktoria Plzeň +1.5 Asian Handicap).
Why you SHOULDN’T bet on Roma
Here’s the truth:
Roma is the Italian Tottenham.
No matter how much you love them, they can drive you mad. They’re famous for ruining betting slips.
Why?
A few facts:
– Constant managerial changes
– Only one trophy since 2008 (and it’s the Conference League)
– Just one Champions League qualification in the last eight seasons
Huge fanbase, huge heart, but strategy?
Not always.
Roma woke up
The second half began promisingly. After pressure and chaos in the box, VAR awarded a penalty!
Behind the ball stood the world champion and Roma’s standout player – Paulo Dybala.
He was the man who could land my big win.
He steps up… strikes… and goooooal!
My big bet was already a winner! I celebrated with the Roma supporters as if we’d lifted the Champions League – but unlike them, I had actually won something!
Only one question remained:
Would I lose those €500 from my Adu bet?

The Prince disappears…
For a long time, Adu wasn’t getting the ball, wasn’t shooting, wasn’t doing anything to ease the tension in my chest.
Minutes were running out, and I needed just one more shot to leave Rome as a BIG winner.
But at the end…
When I least expected it:
Shot number 3 happened! Prince Adu attempted the most tragicomic shot in Europa League history, but it was all I needed!
Second win – another strike right in the sweet spot!
Time to cash out!
Plzeň’s fans went wild, and I went even wilder!
I cashed out €2,850, and the Betinum clients who followed me won even easier with our match bet!
