There’s something special about Paris in April. The city moves at a different pace – slower, more self-assured, as if it knows something the rest of us don’t. So I took my wife to Paris, but of course, on the condition that we watch PSG play Liverpool. We had a delicious meal and checked into a cool Parisian hotel. But I had to make the trip more exciting by placing a bet – even though that wasn’t much fun for my wife.
The Magic of Parc des Princes Up Close
And so we headed to the great Parc des Princes. There are stadiums that greet you like a regular sports arena – and there are those that you feel even before you enter. Parc des Princes is of the second type. The crowd, the noise, the tension in the air – everything prepares you for what is to come. Where the French fans performed a beautiful choreography that made the entire stadium stand still for a moment. I watched spectacular football with some of the best footballers in the world – it is precisely nights like this that people love this game!
€890 for 90 minutes of football. Was it worth it?

It was an emotional game, with two goals for PSG that netted me a profit of €2,800. And the tickets for those seats cost €890 per person. The numbers look impressive at first glance – and they are. But when you’re sitting in the stands watching Kvaratskhelia make a mockery of an entire defense, or Dembélé miss chance after chance with disarming carelessness, you realize that some experiences are simply priceless. So, tell me – would you pay that amount for a Champions League quarterfinal?
Gambling or advantage?

I spent a lot of money to watch a Champions League match live. But actually, most of the time, these experiences cost me nothing. Some of you might say, “Don’t encourage people to gamble.” When you have an edge over the bookmakers – it’s not gambling. Because you spot their mistakes in the odds, which is how you win.
The difference is fundamental: gambling is relying on luck, while value betting is relying on math. One leads to bankruptcy in the long run; the other makes you a winner. So you can check out my videos of all the matches I attend – you’ll see that most of them come out for free.
Final Thoughts

Paris, a great game, delicious food, and a total profit of €2,800 – not a bad way to spend a weeknight. But the real lesson here isn’t about the numbers. The real lesson is that when you approach betting with the right strategy and discipline, experiences like this stop being an expense and become an investment.
