Asian Handicap
The table below shows all possible outcomes for a different handicap. Where necessary in the Handicap columns, it is written both ways in a short and full version (-0.25 and 0;-0.5)
What does mean on Asian Handicap
In its essence, the Asian Handicap is a major advantage for one of the teams. It is marked with “+” or “-” depending on whether goals are added or subtracted to the team result. The most important feature of AH is that it eliminates the draw as an opportunity and you only have two exits. This is also the main difference with the European Handicap where draw is involved and you always have three possible outcomes – 1X2. In most cases it’s used a half-goal handicap of 0.5 ; 1.5; 2.5… this way you have only two options – to win or lose. The other option is to use full goals – 0.0, 1.0, 2.0… you also win or lose here, but you have a third option. It may be a draw, so with it your bet is returned!
What is a +1.5 Asian Handicap
+1.5 means the team you bet on will have an advantage with 1.5 goals. So if this team doesn’t lose with more than one goal difference, or just make a draw or win, it will mean that you win the bet.
There is no DRAW with the Asian Handicap!
The most important thing is to understand that, when there is a draw in the Asian Handicap, your bet is returned or you count it as 1.00 odds. Whether you are talking about the full time of the match or you have Over / Under – Asian goal line it’s the same. As if you bet on Over 2.0 – Asian Goal Line on some match and it ends 2-0, your bet becomes 1.00 odds.
TWO-WAY ASIAN HANDICAP
The spelling of the quarters looks like this: 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, 1.75, etc. When AH is written with a quarter, the closest values on both sides of the quarter are taken to represent more clearly:
- At 0.25 the closest are 0.0 and 0.5
- At 0.75 the closest are 0.5 and 1.0
- At 1.25 the closest are 1.0 and 1.5
- At 1.75, the closest are 1.5 and 2.0
- At 2.25 the closest are 2.0 and 2.5
On the left is in short – in a concise and revised version, while on the right is the complete and descriptive presentation method.
So when you bet on this handicap, your bet is split into two equal bets, which are betting on both options and are considered as two separate bets.
What is the difference between Handicap and Asian Handicap
The main difference between both handicap is that with the Handicap or its originally name “European Handicap” there is no draw option, while with the Asian there is. So if we give the same example with Sevilla +1.0 AH, which we gave earlier, we know that if the game ends 0-1 for the opponent of Sevilla, it means that with the Asian Handicap it will be 1-1, so your bet is returned or the odds become 1.00. But if you bet Sevilla +1 Handicap(European Handicap) it means that if they lose by one goal difference the score becomes 1-1 as it doesn’t have a draw option, your bet is lost, not returned. So with the normal Handicap(EH) your team should always win with the advantage no matter if it’s on his side or not at the begining.
Asian Goal line
Here the principle with Asian handicap is exactly the same. Betting on a goal line we have an option of draw, which in this case is certain goals. I.e. those “.5″that are put when we bet on Over/Under 2.5 /3.5, etc. goals, are not always required. What do we mean?
If we bet Over 2.5 – Asian Goal Line then there is no draw here because there can’t be no 2.5 goals in the match and here the bet is the same as the normal Over 2.5 goals. However, if we bet Over 2.0 – Asian Goal Line then we can have a draw, because there can be exactly 2 goals in the match. So if this is the case your bet will be returned or will be 1.00 odds. By the same logic is with Over / Under 1.0, 3.0, 4.0, etc.
If we bet over 0.75 – Asian Goal Line, which means Over 0.5,1.0 – Asian Goal Line, this means that our bet is divided by 2, as we gave the example above with the Two-Way Asian Handicap. Accordingly, half our bet goes to Over 0.5 goals and the other to Over 1.0 goals. Accordingly, if there is exactly 1 goal in the match, half our bet will be won and the other half will be void or odds 1.00.
Conclusion
What you need to remember about the Asian handicap is that it eliminates the possibility of draw and you have only two possible outcomes. It is represented as a positive or negative number depending on whether goals are scored or added to the team score. Little by little, once you start using it, you will get used to and discover the many opportunities that Asian handicap offers you and start actively take advantage of it in different markets. Almost always the Asian handicap offers higher odds for a similar prediction than the European handicap, i.e. the normal Handicap.
