We commented on Cardiff’s problems against Blackburn when the team’s fatigue was obvious. We saw nothing against Fulham. Loss 0-2 and almost no resistance. Now City are back home in Wales and have to win because they are in 6th place with only 1 point ahead of local rival Swansea. The goal, of course, is to participate in the playoffs. Blue birds cannot afford to fail today. They may be lucky to play Leeds in the next round, when United will have secured entry into the Premier League and will not be so focused.

⚽ Derby also got in bad shape

Derby County lost to two of the teams in top form, namely West Bromwich Albion and Brentford. This combined with the draw with Nottingham 3 rounds ago means that the Rams will have a hard time getting to the top 6, even though they were so close. They are only 3 points away from Cardiff, but the problem is that there are 3 more teams in front of them that want this 6th place and are fighting for it.
