We don’t expect such an easy match for Germany
Scotland is underrated here
Given that Scotland started their campaign with a pretty tough match, a positive result would give a huge boost to their hopes of progressing to the semi-finals. Steve Clarke’s men moved closer to Spain at the top of their qualifying group. Steve Clarke is making his team tough to break down in defense. They need to emphasize more defensively as they don’t have much firepower in attack. Scotland went from a qualifying group to a major tournament for the first time since 1997.
Defensive play in this game is expected to be a priority
Germany is the favorite, but this may not be as easy a win as the odds suggest. Aside from recent history and the state of play, I also note that there are fewer goals in the opening European Championships and teams are starting more tentatively. The last time there were four or more goals in the opening game of this tournament was in 1976. This will be the 14th Euro for the Germans, more than any other nation. My prediction in this match is Under 9.5 Shots on Target at odds of 1.66.
