United have had reason to rejoice in the last few days
United have been enjoying a good period in which they have won 3 very hard fought victories with drama at the end. This is most true of their latest success over Copenhagen in the Champions League where the big sinners of late, Maguire and Onana, have become heroes for the Red Devils. The problem is that the team’s play is really bad and they constantly struggle defensively and often to score goals. At last report, Martinez, Malasia and Shaw remain firmly out, while Wan-Bissaka and Casemiro are unlikely to play.
Man City go into the game as favourites
City are performing brilliantly in the Champions League, which hardly surprises anyone, but they have had some difficulties in the league recently, and against Brighton in the 2nd half they were definitely very relaxed. Now the Citizens are favourites against their city rivals and they can’t afford to lose many more points, as there are a lot of competitors this season. Luckily for Guardiola only de Bruyne is injured. Everyone else is healthy, but Akanji will miss the game due to a suspension.
The Manchester derby will be more tense than ever
This derby can’t go without cards and I’m surprised by the low line of the bookies. Man United have been the roughest team in terms of yellow cards in the league for the last 5 seasons and Man City have recorded a much higher number of cards since the start of the season compared to past campaigns. On top of that City have a few red cards including Akanji’s last round, and we all saw how Kovacic should have got a 2nd yellow card against Arsenal recently. Considering this is also a city derby, my prediction is the “Bet Builder” option, namely BOTH teams to have at least 2 cards in the game + Over 4 cards total at 1.83.
